Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT)

Luxury Vinyl Tile is produced in tile-shaped pieces designed to recreate the appearance of stone, ceramic, concrete, or other natural materials. It offers the visual style of traditional tile with a warmer and generally more comfortable surface.

Important considerations:

LVT is not the same as ceramic or porcelain tile. It does not use traditional mortar installation unless a specific manufacturer requires a specialized system. Proper floor preparation is especially important because imperfections beneath thin vinyl products may become visible after installation.

SPC Rigid Core Vinyl

SPC stands for Stone Plastic Composite or Stone Polymer Composite. It has a dense, rigid core made from a combination of limestone and plastic polymers. SPC flooring is usually available as click-lock planks or tiles.

Because SPC is dense and rigid, it generally feels firmer and cooler underfoot than WPC. A poorly prepared or significantly uneven subfloor can place stress on the locking joints. Manufacturer requirements for flatness, expansion gaps, and underlayment must be followed.
